Materials

Cottons — organic and fair-trade, sourced from traditional varieties and production methods.

Cotton from one of France’s last spinning mills, certified EPV (cotton grown in Asia) · Falé cotton (hand-spun and grown without irrigation in the Sine-Saloum region, Senegal) · Pakucho cotton (a native Peruvian variety, naturally coloured—undyed) · Recycled cotton, produced without water or chemicals (Polish family-run company)

Flax — 100% grown and processed in France, to help sustain a traditional textile industry and craft.

Linen fabric · Raw linen fibers · Unbleached linen thread

Other plant fibers— produced ethically (socially and environmentally) by women’s cooperatives and small rural communities in India, using traditional, chemical-free methods.

100% pure bamboo yarn, made from bamboo fibre (not bamboo viscose) · Raw wild hemp, hand-harvested · Raw wild hemp, hand-harvested and hand-spun

Wild-foraged plant matter — hand-gathered from the environments around me and incorporated directly into the weave.

Wood — sourced in the Gard département, from sustainably managed French forests.

Colours

Natural dyes (plants, fungi and earth pigments foraged, reclaimed or locally grown through small-scale farming), with no commercially sourced mineral or metallic mordants.

Craftmanship

Hand-spinning on a spinning wheel · Handweaving on a rigid-heddle loom · Natural dyeing (with no commercially sourced mineral or metallic mordants) · Woodworking (stretching/mounting on stretcher bars and framing)
