Materials

Cottons — organic and fair-trade, sourced from traditional varieties and production methods.

Cotton from one of France’s last spinning mills, certified EPV (cotton grown in Asia) · Recycled cotton, produced without water or chemicals (Polish family-run company)

Flax — 100% grown and processed in France, to help sustain a traditional textile industry and craft.

Linen fabric · Unbleached linen thread

Wools — French wools, sourced from identified farmers who work with respect for animals and their ecosystems.

Arles Merino (from Bouches-du-Rhône, FR)

Silks — produced ethically (socially and environmentally) by women’s cooperatives and small rural communities in India. All my silks are wild silks or Ahimsa (peace silk), harvested and sometimes hand-spun or recycled, with no chemicals, and kept in their natural colour.

Colours

Natural dyes (plants, fungi and earth pigments foraged, reclaimed or locally grown through small-scale farming), with no commercially sourced mineral or metallic mordants.

Craftmanship

Hand-spinning on a spinning wheel · Handweaving on a rigid-heddle loom · Natural dyeing (with no commercially sourced mineral or metallic mordants)
